19th May 2017 - (Moonseeker) What a beautiful cottage! Moonseeker exceeded our expectations and we had such a relaxing stay - which is just what we needed. We had a lovely welcome from Nicky with the cake, wine, flowers and dog treats - an added bonus. The cottage was spotless and all the little character details are amazing. We would definitely love to return for another visit and will be recommending Moonseeker to our family and friends. PS our dogs loved their stay as much as we did!
23rd June 2017 - (Moonseeker) Wow! what can I say...what an amazing place to stay! Moonseeker is quite simply perfect in every way, and there is not a single thing that I would change. Thank you, Nicky, for your very warm welcome and for the bottle of wine and milk, and a big thank you to your mum for the delicious cake! The cottage is stunning and spotlessly clean. We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and this is without a doubt the cleanest, most well equipped and beautifully furnished cottage we have ever stayed in ....our absolute favourite by a country mile!! The attention to detail is incredible - everything has been thought of and the layout is perfect - especially great for the dogs!! The location is superb too - great for walking and exploring. Favourite place to eat: The Oxenham Arms, South Zeal and The New Inn, Sampford Courtenay. Favourite day out: Lydford Gorge. PS - the bed is to die for, we have never slept so well!!
14th July 2017 - (Dreamcatcher) Nice dreams are difficult to catch or remember - but we will always remember Dreamcatcher, it's unique homely feel, peace and tranquility in abundance. Perfect for a break from the world outside. The warm welcome from Nicky was great, made us feel at home on arrival. Must say many thanks for the kind thoughts, bottle of wine, cake & roses. We love the cottage and the garden. Please continue to encourage wildlife in the form of birds. The sunken garden took my breath away.
30th September 2017 (Dreamcatcher) We have been to Devon many times and adore it, and one day may move here! Dreamcatcher is everything we look for in a holiday let and nothing let us down. It was 'Perfect'. Nicky was a fab host (thanks Nicky's mum for the cake!). Our dog is a seasoned traveller and says it was perfect also - woof!! I even did some yoga in the loft room! Would recommend The New Inn, very friendly (and dog friendly) food good pub standard.
27 October 2017 (Moonseeker) 2 cottages per year for 19 years, this has surpassed them all without doubt. Normally you get a few things ok, and the rest not, but this is perfect in everyway. Great hosts, grounds, furniture, TV, kitchen, beds, en-suites, everything was just lovely. A project well done, although I suspect very hard work, but well worth it, a beautiful job, well done!
29 December 2017 (Dreamcatcher) We ARE back! We are here again for the second time. The cottage is as wonderful as we remember. Nikki is such a brilliant host that staying in is as comfortable as ever, with the woodburner and the Xmas cake. The 4-legged members had a fantastic time as usual in Abbeyford Woods. We visited even further places this time, but coming back to this fantastic cottage is always something to look forward to everyday. What else can we say, but we'll be back sooner than you think! Many thanks to Nikki and family for giving us such a wonderful Xmas break. All the best to an even more successful 2018.
20 January 2018 (Dreamcatcher) We've had a thoroughly good time during our week in Devon. We've taken the dog for long walks on Dartmoor where he's had a whale of a time. Our weather has been awful but it is January after all! We've loved our stay at the cottage, Nicky was very welcoming and the wine and cake was thoughtful and enjoyable. The cottage is lovely and was above our expectations, a comfy bed and gorgeous log burner. It was also a bonus to look at the night sky and see thousands of stars. Brilliant.
15th February 2018 (Moonseeker) We have had the most fabulous time here at Moonseeker, thank you so much! The welcome we had was the best we've ever had at a cottage - and the gorgeous cake, wine and flowers were so lovely and thoughtful. There are so many wonderful details in the cottage - books in every room, a selection of DVD's and games, blankets on the chairs - we had everything we needed and more!
We had a lovely time exploring the area, the guidebooks were so helpful. We've had such a relaxing time in this beautiful cottage - we didn't want to leave and will definitely recommend to friends. We can't wait to come back!
3rd March 2018 (Dreamcatcher) Arrived to the wonderful sight of a freshly baked Victoria sponge which tasted delicious - we had to ration ourselves over the next 2 days! Dreamcatcher is a very cosy spot to stay for both dogs and their humans! Our two enjoyed themselves immensely, especially once the snow arrived. Storm Emma slightly curtailed our days out but we still managed trips to Topsham and Tavistock and walked in Lydford Gorge after a hearty meal at the Castle Inn there. Our last couple of days have seen us bunkering inside with the dogs, watching and feeding the birds, reading, relaxing in front of the woodburner and generally slowing down - just what was needed! Thank you to Nicky and Trev for looking after us so well, and providing us with an Aga cooked meal when the power went down. So kind! it has been a blast! We will be back!
23 March 2018 (Dreamcatcher) Thanks for a fantastic stay. We have had a great time, Dreamcatcher is so comfortable and quiet. We got so much pleasure from watching a huge variety of birds on the feeder and relaxing with coffee and the woodburner after long afternoons walking. Thanks again, it really was fantastic.
6th April 2018 (Moonseeker) Our first time at Moonseeker cottage, but definitely won't be our last. A wonderfully equipped cottage, quite a home from home. Very dog friendly, a great advantage with our 2 little pooches. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday, just what we all needed. Thank you very much Nicky for providing this lovely little haven for our holiday.Just wanted to mention a couple of places we enjoyed. If you have dogs to keep entertained we found Daymer Beach a lovely big beach with lots of interest for the pooches. We also made a trip of 5 to 10 mins to Okehampton to a fairly newly established Escape Room. Having never done one before we had no idea what to expect, but we all had a thoroughly good time and are looking forward to coming back, as they have another room in the making.
